Wedding Styling: Yellow & Grey
We’re the first to admit that we may be ever so slightly addicted to Pinterest. And by ever so slightly we mean addicted in a big way. So, if you too are of the Pinterest persuation, and like us spend 90% of your time browsing weddings – imaginary or otherwise – you may have noticed yellow and grey creeping on to your boards. Yes, that’s right ladies (and attentive gentlemen), it’s the next big thing in wedding styling and boy are we excited.
We love it. Muted, modern and sophisticated – with a dash of playfulness – it’s perfect for any bride looking to do something a little different with her big day.
For the tablescape, we’ve used soft greens and greys to offset the warming yellow and white centrepiece. We’ve kept the colour consistent throughout the table, using pale yellow roses as place settings with ribbons of the same colour tied around the cutlery. These yellow accents, mixed with the cream and dark green and grey tones, give the table a romantic and refined look.
To keep things playful we’ve matched the white and yellow floral centrepiece with a canopy of matching paper poms. Hanging decorations from above, be it pom poms, tassel garlands or balloons is a great way to really bring a clearly defined palette together.
LET’S TALK DESSERT
Now, if there’s one thing every wedding should have (apart from a willing groom, obviously) it’s a dessert table. We have our friends across the pond to thank for this sweet-toothed trend. Easy to prepare, simply ask your caterers for an extra trestle table. We’ve used sweet jars of varying heights and our ceramic letter dishes to house all the goodies. A great alternative to favours, you can give each of your guests a striped candy bag to fill.
