to have and to clutch

So everything is ready to go; booked, paid for, planned to perfection. You have the dress, the veil, you’ve handpicked your bouquet and everything is exactly as you’ve ever wanted for your wedding day. Then comes the tricky bit – you remember you’re a female and females intrinsically need stuff. If you’re like me, when you use a small clutch, it’s bulging at the seams and if you’re using an oversized hand bag, you fill it to the brim to the point where you can never find anything and look like a bumbling manic in public; always urgently searching for your ringing phone, purse, oyster card…

On your big day realistically you don’t need your phone because everyone you love will be with you at YOUR wedding. You won’t need money because food and drinks are taken care of. You won’t need a camera because you’re paying a fortune for a wonderful photographer to catch every single special moment of the day (along with a crowd of family and friends that become the equivalent to the paparazzi!). But if you’re like me, you’ll feel lost without a bag and all the things you “need” – even on your wedding day. What it really comes down to is you need a small clutch or pouch for you to have and to hold (which your bridesmaids will be minding for most of the day anyway) and it’s really for the sake of some make-up staples, lip gloss and a mini version of your favourite scent!

Here is my pick of the some of the loveliest clutches around, to add the finishing (and practical) touch to your bridal look. If your dress is cream or white, there is no rule that says your accessories have to match perfectly, unless you really want them to of course! Bags are the perfect way to accessorize and add something quirky and unusual to a normal outfit, so why not have fun and apply the same way of thinking on your wedding day? Using a patterned or beaded bag would be a clever and easy way to add something different and unique to your bridal style; helping you keep your look very ‘you’.
