THE GUEST EDIT: LUCY REBER

Stylist Magazine’s Lucy Reber is this month’s guest editor, and boy does she know a thing or two about style. No stranger to fashion shows and designer labels, Lucy’s good taste doesn’t stop at clothes. We caught up with Lucy to find out a little bit more about her personal style (we can promise you, it’s good) and drool over her must-have homewares.

Tell us a little bit about your home
My bedroom is my haven. I like things to be neat and tidy, so good storage is essential. My shelves are full of my favourite books and decorated with pictures of friends and family. I’ve painted every room in cool, neutral colours with bright statement accessories dotted throughout.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
London, where I live now! Everyone I love lives here, and I still think it’s the most amazing city. It’s so beautiful and there’s always something to do. I couldn’t be without all the parks and open spaces either.

How would you describe your personal style?
Minimal and understated. I like things to be subtly beautiful – an elegant piece of pottery for example, with only a turquoise cracked glaze for decoration.

What makes a happy home?
A huge kitchen table for large raucous suppers with friends to start! For me, home is also a place to retreat, be it a simple bathroom filled with your favourite spa treats, or a peaceful bedroom with an armchair by the window for reading.

Furniture or fashion?
Do I have to choose?! Both are essential to life, and also essential as a way to express your style. You shouldn’t have to have one without the other!

Where do you get inspiration for your home?
All my home inspiration comes from images torn out of magazines – I don’t read interiors mags especially, but often locations for fashion shoots can hit the perfect ambience that I want to recreate.
