Real Bride: Liz

Meet Liz, she’s marrying Rolo on 11 July. As one of our Real Brides, she’ll be sharing her experiences with us on her journey to the altar. From choosing her bridesmaids to last minute panic buys, Liz will be blogging about all things wedding.

Liz and Rolo’s Story
My fiancé, Rolo, and I had crossed paths a couple of times and then ended up going to a mutual friend’s birthday – it started well after Rolo accidentally headbutted me when kissing me on the cheek. I didn’t end up even saying hello to my friend and just talked to Rolo the whole evening. The rest is history!

The Proposal
In February 2014, we went on a mini break to New York. Rolo had arranged for my engagement ring to be made by jewellery designer Anna Sheffield and for him to pick it up from the New York store – meaning there was no chance of me accidentally finding it in his suitcase. He memorised the route from our hotel to the store so that I wouldn’t become suspicious of him looking at his phone. On arrival at the jewellers, he was handed the ring box and then turned to me, got down on one knee  and proposed! There was even a photographer on hand to catch the moment – I have since edited out the ugly crying photos.

The Dream Wedding
I have a big family and amazing friends, so we are looking forward to having a big summer party with everyone we love there. Lots of dancing, great food and laughter. Oh and an incredible wedding dress. We want there to be a lot of colour at the wedding and to keep it as personal to Rolo and I as possible, incorporating everything we love into the styling.
