Concoct The Perfect Festive Cocktail

For many people (ourselves included) the festive period is, amongst other things, a time for enjoying a tipple or two. So, to celebrate our favourite holiday of the year we asked Toby, founder of TASTE cocktails and mixologist-extraordinaire, to create some festive cocktails just for us. Cue lots of stirring, shaking and wafts of chocolate and brandy. Needless to say after much tasting we felt very Christmassy, if not a little tipsy.

This festive number is like the classic Brandy Alexander, but better – adding cream makes everything better in our opinion. Say hello to this Christmas’s most indulgent cocktail…

2 shots of Brandy
1/2 shot of Dark Creme de Cacao
3/4 shot of Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur
1/2 shot of Double Cream
1/2 shot of Milk
(optional) 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters

Pour all the ingredients into a shaker half filled with ice cubes and shake. Make sure all the cream is mixed in before you fine strain it into a martini glass – or a mini milk bottle if you have one handy. For a very festive finishing touch, sprinkle with grated nutmeg.

What could be better than adding a chocolate biscuit to a cocktail? There’s not much to compete in our estimation. Except maybe if David Gandy served it to us on a silver tray…

To serve 1
2 shots of Brandy
1 shot of Dark Creme de Cacao
1 shot of Kahlua Coffee Liqueur
1 Bourbon Biscuit (and a couple more to nibble on whilst you’re waiting)

Pour all the ingredients into a mixing glass, half fill with ice cubes and stir with a bar spoon for 10-15 seconds. Fine strain into a coupe or martini glass, and garnish with a Bourbon – delicious!

You can get all the alcohol you need to make both The Chocolate Biscuit and The Hazelnut Alexander in the TASTE cocktail Christmas box. The perfect gift for the cocktail connoisseur in your life – or anyone who just likes a festive tipple.
