a winter wedding
We were delighted to see the photos of our wedding competition winners, Charlotte and Paul Martenstyn. We ran the wedding competition last year, and Charlotte won a vast array of wonderful prizes including a wedding cake (shown), honeymoon, wedding invitations, wedding favours, lingerie, Elemis beauty products and wedding day jewellery.
The ceremony took place at Our Lady Star of the Sea church in Greenwich which was a very special venue as Paul’s mother and sister were also married there. The reception was held at the Royal Naval College in the Painted Hall. Charlotte said ‘The highlight of the day was the snow! It was very wintry and magical. The reception venue was rather grand so it all went well with the theme.’
Charlotte was so amazed when she got the email to say she’d won and nearly deleted it by mistake! She loved the prizes; ‘I used the Elemis products religiously in the lead up to the wedding to try and get my skin in the best condition possible. We also saved our Return to Glory pamper day until nearer the big day at the beginning of December. I decided to share it with Paul as I couldn’t decide which of my bridesmaids to choose (he was also feeling a little left out when I got all the other prizes!). It was so lovely and relaxing to have all that pampering and then not have to leave a salon to drive home. The cake on the day was also fabulous. Antonia from Ooh La La Chocolaterie was really lovely and a great help when deciding on our final design. Everyone said it was fantastic chocolate cake!’
But it isn’t all over yet – they still have the honeymoon in Thailand to look forward to: ‘It’s so nice that there is still a part of the wedding to come. The hotel resort looks amazing and the reviews are fantastic. We have decided to extend our trip by staying two nights in Bangkok and then having six extra nights at the Sarojin Resort. We are both very excited.’
We can’t wait to see the honeymoon photos! What a gorgeous couple.
