Mum: A Snapshot Terry O’Neill Exhibition
We love mums here at notonthehighstreet.com, that’s why we decided to do something extra special for Mother’s Day this year. We teamed up with legendary fashion photographer Terry O’Neill to launch Mum: A Snapshot – an exhibition that ran over Mother’s Day weekend to showcase the very best of mother and child relationships.
The exhibition featured a selection of Terry O’Neill’s own work, showcasing his iconic shots of notable mothers and their children. We saw hollywood royalty grace the walls of the gallery, from Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli to Twiggy and her daughter Carly Lawson.
In addition to these famous faces, we asked the general public to send in their favourite pictures of themselves with mum. A selection of these snapshots (as chosen by Terry) were featured in the exhibition, with one person winning the ultimate prize – their very own photoshoot with Terry O’Neill.
The winning image came from Linda Bloomfield. It showed her blowing out candles on her first birthday with her mother, Susan. Linda travelled to London with mum in tow for their photoshoot, where they were given the ultimate star treatment with their very own hair, make-up and styling team.
In the final image Linda wears earrings by Anthony Blakeney, and Susan wears a Yellow Gold Filigree Rosette Flower Short Necklace by Arabel Lebrusan, both available from notonthehighstreet.com.
Celebrity mum and daughter pairing Jo and Leah Wood fronted the campaign, and also participated in a photoshoot with Terry to capture a snapshot of their own special relationship. Their portrait was unveiled on the preview night of the exhibition alongside Linda and Susan’s photograph.
