The Category Merchandiser is responsible for developing the range of products within the category to achieve company and category targets, monitoring performance against agreed KPIs.

Job Description:

  • Manage the selection expansion cycle and range review process to ensure continued development of selection breadth and depth whilst maintaining a high product quality bar
    • Monitor and report on product sales within the category and identify trends including price, customer acquisition and emerging products
    • With Category Manager conduct a market and competitor assessment as part of the range review process to identify further category opportunities
    • Increase incremental selection from existing partners through product development/range expansion, working with Category Account Manager
    • Increase targeted selection by identifying opportunities for new partners, working with Category New Business Executive
  • Own and develop the relevant category/department pages on site, with On-Site Merchandiser ensuring selection is optimised in line with company targets
  • Pitch to X-Site team for all premium product space including Homepage, emails, catalogues and seasonal departments to ensure maximum exposure for products from the category
  • Other projects as defined
