HOW TO: PUMPKIN FACE PAINTING
Stuck for inspiration this year? Never fear, we’re here to help. With our quick and easy face painting tutorial you’ll be the family’s go-to artist. Just like the fairy godmother in Cinderella you’ll be working your magic on a pumpkin princess and all in less than 10 minutes.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Face paint (orange, yellow, black & green)
Using a clean, damp sponge apply the first layer of orange face paint. Create a soft ‘M’ shape over the forehead and brows – this will be the base layer for the pumpkin top.
Now using only the corner of the sponge, create the illusion of pumpkin ridges by adding yellow streaks – this will add texture and dimension.
Now switching to a dark green paint and a fine-line brush, draw two small leaves either side of the cheeks. If you’re feeling a flush of artistic confidence, shade them in with a light green.
With the same two shades of green paint and mirroring the technique for the leaves, create the stalk of the pumpkin in the center of the forehead.
Using the black paint and a freshly washed brush, outline the pumpkin’s edges, ridges, stalk and leaves.
If you’re still awash with artistic flair, go back to using the sponge and fill-in the shape with a dab of yellow, this will highlight the natural tones of the pumpkin skin.
And with a bibbidi bobbidi boo, you have an adorable pumpkin princess.
