HALF TERM FUN

Just as you settle into the post-Christmas routine: the kids are back, running riot around the house, while your usual weekday saviors (AKA the teachers) enjoy their well-deserved break.

Whether you plan to keep warm and entertain them indoors – or brave the February weather for some fresh air – we have an assortment of activities to keep little hands busy this half term.

So let’s go fly a kite, bake some cakes and get creative – but mainly, let’s try to stop them ‘decorating’ the walls with crayon again.

FOR MAKERS AND CREATORS

Spark their imaginations and keep them busy with art and crafts. Getting the paints out (newspaper down first) will certainly occupy them for a few hours.

FOR FUTURE INVENTORS

It used to be inspector gadget, but nowadays it’s the inventors such as Steve Jobs and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerbueg who inspire children to delve into the world of coding and new technology.

These kits are designed to encourage kids to press pause on playing the games and start making them instead.

FOR SPORT FANS

What better way to work off some of their extra energy, than with some old fashioned games. Skittles can be played indoor or out (just make sure you hide the vases) which makes it the perfect February half term activity.

FOR PLAYING MAKE BELIEVE

Get out the dressing-up box and transform your home into a far-away land. From fairies fluttering around the garden, to an indoor puppet theater, these ideas are sure to capture their imagination.

FOR THE ADVENTURERS

Every little adventurer needs shelter from the harsh terrains of the garden and this teepee hideout is the perfect spot. Just add a few cushions and you’ll have a hard time convincing them to come out.

If you’re really feeling adventurous then the older kids will love this kit, packed with everything they’ll need for a day exploring and maybe even a night under the stars (weather permitting).

FOR THE KIDS DAY OUT

Who wouldn’t want to be a superhero for the day! During the experience, they’ll learn their super power pose and customise their very own cape.

We all love a sweet treat now and then, and what better way to inspire budding bakers than a cupcake decorating class with everything from 3D dinosaur biscuits, to unicorn cupcakes.

FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

A great way to spend quality time together, half term could be a great excuse to take the day off and do something fun and creative together.

Why not try a day blacksmithing and enjoy learning the process of making a piece of ironwork. Alternatively, spend the day designing and constructing your very own kite, before heading to the hills to watch it swoop and dart through the skies.
