wedding flowers to keep?

Flowers are a big part of any wedding, whatever the budget. Even if you are trying to keep the costs down, everyday flowers can look stunning too – hydrangeas in jam jars, sweet peas in tea cups or daffodil bunches in milk bottles tied with ribbon… flowers turn a venue into a wedding.

However, going for fresh flowers requires lots of planning and, even though they can be given away to guests post-wedding, they will only last a few more days.

Here are other floral alternatives which can be just as pleasing, and won’t wilt away before you want them to!

We are crazy about these over-sized paper poms. For a set of three, you’ll pay £17.50 and they come in a variety of vibrant colours. We love the yellow, off white and brilliant white grouping that is shown in the photograph above. Fun, pretty and really shout out ‘party’.

If you’re planning a stunning white wedding and are looking for flowers with a luxe edge, the jasmine bell flower garland is very pretty and versatile, costing £26 for 180cm. Another versatile flower garland is by Lavender Room and can be placed over mirrors, chairs or doorways and is only £15.

The ‘blom’ paper flowers have three cards with 15 flowers ready to be threaded on the supplied wires to make an unusual table decoration. The best way to display them is in a vase like you’d arrange real flowers. Perfect for a quirky and relaxed wedding day. £8.95 for 15 flowers.

The Sola Rose Table Name Cards are beautiful. £20 for a pack of ten, they double up as place names and favours. There come in a choice of cream or pink. A gorgeous idea and eco friendly too –
they are hand crafted from sola wood peel, a derivative from the tapioca plant. You can also buy a sola rose pomander to carry.

And finally, you can’t go wrong with a string of linen roses. Use them wherever you see a bit of space that needs a wedding touch.

Fabulously faux!
