celebrations for cora

Today has been the last day in the office for Cora, the fourth and final notonthehighstreet.com bride of 2011 (not forgetting Mark, who, whilst not a bride, also had a wedding this year!). Cora is hanging up her Senior PA-to-Holly boots (not forever) and is off to tie the knot with fiance Pete this Saturday and we couldn’t be happier for them! This year has been very busy for weddings at notonthehighstreet.com and we have been just as intrigued by Cora’s wedding as the other five staff members who got hitched this year. We know she’s got some cooler-than-cool plans that we can’t wait to share with you in a few weeks.

Everyone gathered in the office this afternoon (Cora would refer to this as more of an ambush!) and toasted the happy couple with a cheeky sip of something sparkly. We also presented Cora with specially chosen gifts from their notonthehighstreet.com Wedding Gift List.

As we won’t be seeing Cora for a few weeks and will have to wait to hear how it all goes and to chew her ear about the finer details, we asked her to answer a few quick questions about the exciting days ahead:

Why did you decide to work right up to the wedding?

Three reasons…
One, my fiancé had the week off beforehand and I felt happy leaving the final bits to him.
Two, I think having the week off before would have panicked me into a bridezilla state of being – too much time to think!
And finally, I think Holly [co founder of notonthehighstreet.com] may have wept if I’d left sooner!

Are there any preparations that you have left to the last minute?

Not really – it’s just the logistics of getting everything to the right place at the right time now. Champagne to bus? Check. Sweet jars to reception venue? Check. Florist to pick up vases? Check… !
Oh – and I haven’t quite figured out my something old, something new, something borrowed or something blue!

What are you most looking forward too?
Is it wrong to say the cake?! I think I’m actually looking forward to just being married – we’ve been planning this one day for six months – it will just be wonderful to be what we set out to be!

If you could have one what would be your one wedding day wish?

That I don’t trip over walking down the aisle – I’m pretty clumsy when I’m nervous

Where are you off to on honeymoon? Why? When? How long for?

We’re off to the states for a three week road trip – San Francisco, LA and then Vegas… I cant wait!!

We’d like to send Cora and Pete lots of love, luck and congratulations (in advance), from the whole notonthehighstreet.com family. We hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy every moment it has to offer!

Cora’s wedding gifts included: two Alphabet Plates (one ‘P’ and one ‘C’, of course!) and a beautiful Moonlight Lantern.
