bursting with pride

Today, we have a particularly lovely post inspired by one of our notonthehighstreet.com sellers and her family, Laura from Louy Magroos. We love to hear about couples who use unique styling products from the site to add a personal and extra special touch to their wedding day and this post is just about that. Laura, who hand-makes silver jewellery and sells it on notonthehighstreet.com, shares her story about a recent bespoke commission, that was very close to her heart.

I spend a lot of time making personalised silver jewellery for weddings and love making jewellery for weddings over any other occasion. I think there is something very special about being given the honour to make people something unique for their wedding day and my favourite pieces are cufflinks for grooms and their groomsmen.

My big sister recently got married and I made quite a few pieces for the day, including cufflinks for the groomsmen and bouquet charms for her. The piece that made the wedding is what I wanted to share with you: my very special Handmade Silver Dad Cufflinks for the father of the bride. I believe that there is no prouder moment for a father, than to walk his daughter down the aisle and watch her get married and my own dad had this pleasure just a few months ago.

The official wedding photos arrived recently and the one thing that stuck out the most to me in the images was how delighted my dad clearly was that day! Like most fathers with daughters my dad is extremely proud of us both so was particularly pleased with the pair of ‘Dad Cufflinks’ Helen and Mark asked me to make for him to wear on the big day. These made the perfect gift for the father of the bride and will be truly treasured for many years to come. Every time he wears them he will be reminded of the day, and how much he is loved by his daughter; the best way to say thank you to your dad. My dad literally got to wear and show his heart on his sleeve.

I got to see first-hand how important it is not to forget the people that have helped you make your wedding the perfect day it is sure to be. All eyes are on the bride and groom but little touches like these cufflinks will show your guests and loved ones how much you appreciate and cherish those close to your heart.

When making her wedding cufflinks, Laura offers the option of having the date of the wedding stamped into the reverse, to make them even more unique and at no extra cost. Thank you so much to Laura for sharing her touching and personal account of a wonderfully unique styling touch. We would also like to extend out thanks to wedding photgrapher, Pauline von Moltke, for use of her beautiful images.
