At this time of year, we can’t help but get excited when someone mentions the word ‘picnic’. Immediately we’re greeted with visions of mini sandwiches (crusts off obviously), pink lemonade and LOTS of cake.

This year, we’re taking our love of picnicking to a whole new level. In anticipation of the fabled August heat-wave, we’ve been inspired by the textures and tastes of Morocco to go on the ultimate bohemian outing.

The picnic essentials are still absolutely necessary: wicker hamper, blanket and more food than one family could ever possibly eat – who doesn’t love leftovers eh?

To bring the bold colours, textures and patterns of Morocco to your own picnic, you’ll need lots of pillows, pouffes and of course a hammock to relax in. We’ve chosen pink as our primary colour, mixing apricot tones with rich magentas.

Now for the food (and drink). What use is a wicker hamper if not filled with mouth-wateringly good picnic fares? If – like us – you have a sweet tooth, your basket will be full of cake. We’ve opted for macarons, scones and our favourite new dessert invention: Biskie.
