60 SECONDS WITH KATIE
What’s your job title and what do you do?
I work in the Partner Production team, specifically with our Jewellery and Fashion sellers. I make sure that product images, titles and descriptions are in line with our requirements and show the products at their best. I help sellers set up their storefront before they go live on the site, and also check as many products uploaded by our existing sellers as possible every day.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be loads of things when I was younger, but most of all I wanted to be a harp player. Needless to say I wasn’t allowed a harp!
What’s the least ordinary thing about you?
I love dogs and spend my Saturday mornings volunteering at a puppy training class – yes, it is really fun! I did a degree in Biology and Animal Behaviour at Exeter. And I also own a pet unicorn.
If your friends had to sum you up in three words, they’d be:
Happy, enthusiastic and optimistic.
How did notonthehighstreet.com catch your eye?
My sister and I both love the site, so when the right job came up, I had to apply! I also wanted to make all my friends jealous.
Has the NOTHS team lived up to expectations?
I wasn’t aware of how close-knit the seller community and the NOTHS team are, and that’s lovely to be a part of. I also didn’t realise how many thousands of products are added to the site each week!
notonthehighstreet.com vs. other companies. What’s different?
There is a really calm atmosphere here, which is very different to any other place I have worked. The people here are so kind and friendly, and everyone loves to get involved.
Is there anything we encourage in you that’s been frowned on elsewhere?
Everyone here is encouraged to contribute their ideas and they are always taken seriously. I have also made a pretty great sticker reward chart for our team, which I’m not sure would be appreciated so much in other workplaces!
What do you value and enjoy most about working here?
The Production team! They are so much fun to work with. I also love getting to look at so many beautiful products every single day (and before everyone else!).
Give us a snapshot of your best day on the job.
My favourite day so far has to be our Make, Do & Meet event. It was fantastic getting to meet our sellers face to face and learning about their different backgrounds. We also had some really inspirational speakers, who I loved listening to.
