Today our festive calendar opens to reveal our Creative Production Assistant Bethan Moore and our Creative Production Manager Jess Beck, with the Personalised Make Your Own Doll Kit from Clara and Macy.
Meet Bethan and Jess
The traditions of Christmas are the best part of the festive season for Bethan and Jess. Bethan loves experiencing the same events each year, from present buying in November to feasting on leftovers on Boxing Day; it’s also her birthday today!
Jess loves opening stockings by the fire on Christmas morning with her brother, although this year will be a little different as he is away travelling in Australia. Both ladies will most likely be humming along to Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You throughout the festive season, as they both told us it is their favourite festive tune!
As you might expect, both Bethan and Jess have items from notonthehighstreet.com firmly at the top of their Christmas lists! For Bethan, it’s the Ceramic Tin Can Style Pot by indigomoss – Bethan has just re-decorated and now needs some nice new home accessories too! Jess loves books, so for her it’s one of Klevercase’s beautiful Kindle covers, so that hers will at least look a little more like a real book!
Meet Clara and Macy
Not-at-all-grumpy Clara is the creation of Laura Clempson, who started Clara and Macy as a project during her lunch breaks when she worked as a puppet maker. Clara and Macy won the notonthehighstreet.com Storefront Success Award in 2013 – a feat Clara is convinced is all down to her!
Laura’s doll kits are made from the highest quality materials. Whilst they are simple craft kits, they can be personalised and therefore transform an ordinary gift into a truly special one. Laura just loves the idea that little children can make doll versions of themselves – creating something extra special and filled with love.
Laura’s favourite Christmas tradition is decorating the Christmas tree. When she was a little girl like Clara they would decorate the family tree on her mum’s birthday in mid-December, and it was always a very special day. Now Laura is all grown up, decorating the tree is still one of her favourite things. The treasured decorations have been collected over many years, and her children love it too – so much so that they’ve asked for two trees this year!
