Christening gifts

It’s one of those occasions when you’re never really sure what to buy; the recipients (unless they’re rather advanced for their age) don’t have their own wishlist and, in many cases, you probably bought a gift when they were born, so clothes and toys may seem a bit redundant. If you’re not particularly religious, you might not want to go for the traditional bible, and there’s always a chance he or she will be given six different versions from various family members anyway. We’ve long felt that there isn’t enough choice when it comes to thoughtful, unusual gifts that are special enough to commemorate a Christening, Baptism or Naming Day, so we’ve pulled together a collection of our favourites – things that we think tick all the right boxes. Every gift in the selection below is both unusual and sentimental, and can be kept by the child or their family forever.

  1. What beautiful gifts! What I try to go for is something that I know the family will keep for years to come. Something that the “baby” will see when grown up and appreciate the person that was there for them from the beginning to support them! I especially love the personalised spoon! I’ve found some nice ideas for personalised gifts for baptisms, christenings and the like at http://www.originalgiftideas.org
